OverviewEven hard to access communities deep in the Amazon Rainforest are suffering from the current pandemic. Such is the case of Peru’s Shipibo community of Nuevo Shetebo. Nurse Norma Dávila Silva (pictured here) is in charge of their only clinic and has already cared for hundreds of patients, some local and some from surrounding communities – many with COVID-19 and other illnesses. In 2018, Empower2Transform partnered to build this clinic, and equip it with solar power for lights and refrigeration for vaccines and other medications.Urgent NeedsThe global pandemic has highlighted the need for healthcare infrastructure.
