PGJyLz4=Centre Kèmndà (meaning Kindness) is an organization that was created by the Berasngar family in 2018 in order to provide support for vulnerable children living in Koumra, in the south of Chad. Chad, one of the poorest countries in the world, has high rates of poverty and corruption and this deeply affects children. Because of the extreme poverty affecting such a huge part of the population, many children are orphaned and live on the streets, suffering from malnutrition and disease and scrounging daily for food to sustain them. Child abuse and child trafficking are very serious threats to these vulnerable ones...Because these children are completely unsupervised and cannot afford to attend school, they grow up wild and undisciplined. Quite often fights break out over food scraps or other little things and children end up getting severely injured. Ever since Centre Kèmndà was started in Obed’s family home two years ago, several of these children have come to his family with serious wounds, sicknesses or other problems, as this is the only place they know to turn to for help. A few of these children have stayed permanently at the family home as they so desperately want a place to be safe and to belong. They have been able to attend school, eat what they need daily and have adult supervision. The Berasngar family has been called of God to return to Obed’s home village of Koumra. They have been travelling back and forth to Chad in the last several years to do the groundwork for the ministry and have been seriously preparing to move to Chad at the end of 2021 in order to fully dedicate themselves to the work of Centre Kèmndà. They are still in need of more supporters to help support their family as well as the many children that they have been so far supporting financially from afar. In 2019 God provided an amazing 35 acres of land to Centre Kèmndà (video 1) but the land remains totally undeveloped. Through the eyes of faith, we can envision this land being developed with several family homes to house the orphans, a school building, a community center for music and activities, sports fields, a library, gardens, workshops for skill training and so much more! We believe God has a huge plan for this space and we are praying for a team of people who will also see the vision and participate to provide hope for these children, not just temporal hope, but also eternal hope as they learn about Jesus Christ and they come to know the God who loves them and has not forgotten them. The partnership with GCF and FGC has been an invaluable part of getting Centre Kèmndà’s activities off of the ground. It is essential to have a good mission organization to properly handle donor funding, giving the necessary confidence and security to donors. Having a team in Canada and in the US that are not only taking care of the paperwork but are also consistently available and reachable, ready to encourage and to pray, has been the greatest blessing!PGJyLz4=Prayer Request
