Restore Mission International

Starting out with no classroom, in the last two years, God has come through for us with the provision of nine classrooms which now shelter about 40% of the kids in our free school program. And we continue to trust God to provide more classrooms and resources so we can have the remaining kids under shelter as well.

Our empowerment program has been that of restoration of hope. Eunice Yenge is a widow in the IDP camp, having lost her husband to the crisis. She is one of the 18 teachers employed by Restore Mission in her camp. With a deep sense of contribution and relevance, Eunice now feels a sense of purpose as she impacts the children, while also being economically empowered. Thomas Edward was also trained in shoe making and empowered with the starting capital in the same camp. With his new shoe-making and repair business doing well, he now has the economic capacity to take care of his family within the IDP camp. In fact, he was even able to help out another relative with business capital.

As Easter comes around, Restore Mission will be carrying out a basic medical outreach and food relief program across the two camps where we currently work. This program will reach more than 3,000 households in these camps. We invite you to join us as we spread the love of our risen Saviour, Jesus Christ, this Easter and beyond through your donation.

Restore Mission International is a Canadian non-profit that works with the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) communities in the middle belt region of Nigeria (Benue State).

In Benue State, Nigeria, over 1.5 million people have been displaced from their communities due to ethno-religious attacks. With some family members killed or maimed, many of these displaced persons currently live across several IDP camps (basically refugee camps) within the state, with no food and no education for the kids.

Restore Mission is currently working to provide free primary/elementary education and free school lunches for over 1,800 kids across two of these camps, hoping to gradually scale to the other camps as more resources become available. Over 130 adults have also been trained in four different vocational areas with some empowered with capital to start these trades. Through the work of Restore Mission, God is re-writing the stories of these families and their children, restoring the hope of a better future.

Prayer Request:

Please pray that as we work as the hands and feet of Christ in these communities, they will see Christ and get to know Him indeed. Our ultimate desire is that they will become truly transformed spiritually, intellectually, socially, and economically.
