1toAnother was born in the wake of Pakistan's most devastating flood in recent history. In 2010, when over 21 million people were affected by severe flooding, we launched our initiative to aid rural communities in their recovery efforts. What started as an urgent response to a crisis has transformed into a sustained effort to create lasting, positive change. At 1toAnother, we believe in the power of compassion and targeted action to empower lives and build resilient communities. Join us in our mission to make a difference, one family at a time.
At 1toAnother Society, our vision is to see Pakistan's marginalized communities empowered and transformed through holistic development rooted in Christian values. We strive to uplift the poor and disadvantaged by providing access to quality education, healthcare, sustainable income generation opportunities, and effective disaster relief. Our Christ-centered approach ensures that every individual is treated with dignity and compassion, fostering a society where all can thrive. Together, we are mobilizing Pakistan's marginalized, inspiring hope, and creating lasting change.
Today, 1toAnother has expanded its scope to encompass comprehensive Health, Education, and Disaster Management initiatives. We remain dedicated to uplifting the poor and marginalized in Pakistan, constantly adapting our approach to address the evolving needs of the communities we serve.
Healthcare: Bringing quality healthcare to marginalized communities through essential services, health education, and preventive care.
Victoria Memorial Medical Center (VMMC), formerly Victoria Memorial Hospital (VMH), was founded in 2021 with the mission of offering healthcare services to the underprivileged who cannot afford expensive medical treatments. VMMC specializes in maternal and child healthcare and essential eye care services, including low-cost cataract surgeries. Additionally, VMMC organizes free medical camps in rural areas of Multan District. Strategically located on the outskirts of Multan City, our goal is to bridge the gap in affordable healthcare for families with limited resources.
Disaster Relief & Rehabilitation: Restoring communities devastated by natural disasters with immediate relief and sustainable support to rebuild homes and livelihoods.
In 2022, Pakistan faced severe flooding due to unprecedented monsoon rains, leaving many in dire need after losing lives, homes, and livelihoods. Entire villages were submerged, amplifying the urgency for support. Leveraging our flood relief experience, 1toAnother swiftly mobilized to aid victims. We provided essential supplies like food, tents, and housing, established water wells for clean drinking water, distributed blankets, shoes, and sanitation facilities, and conducted numerous medical camps. Our commitment continues in flood-affected areas like Taunsa Sharif, Kot Sabzal, and Fort Munro.
Education: Using education to break the cycle of poverty, offering opportunities for all to thrive.
Bethel Rufin School was established in 2003 by Victoria Yunis, a strong advocate for using education to combat poverty and inequality. Her vision was to provide education to one of the poorest communities in Multan. We began with 30 students and 2 teachers in a church. By the time 1toAnother took the reins in 2014, the school had grown to 125 students, 8 teachers, and classes ranging from pre-school to class 8. Over the past decade, BRS has seen remarkable growth, now serving 177 students with 13 teachers and 3 staff members. Notably, the school has achieved accreditation for higher classes to take government exams and now offers education up to the 10th standard for girls. This advancement opens new doors for female students who previously faced many challenges continuing their studies beyond a certain grade.
