About This Project

The mission of Hope for the City is this: To mobilize the Church to live out Christ’s love by surrounding struggling families with compassionate community and practical help - in order to empower families, restore dignity, and build a stronger London.

Our goal is to wrap around families in crisis with volunteers who will share and show Christ to the poor, the hurt, the isolated and the oppressed.

Isolation is a huge problem. Add to that poverty, violence, and trauma, and the situation seems hopeless. There are a large number of families, especially single mothers, in our neighborhoods.

Many need support, even a way of escape out of the crisis. Some need help to get their kids back from child welfare. Some need support so their children are not apprehended in the first place. They all need community. They all need healthy relationships. That is where Hope for the City comes in.

Hope for the City offers relational support and community through our weekly Hope Moms’ Group. At this group, we not only share a provided meal together, but we offer training, talks, or testimonies. Our goal is to help the moms with practical help that can help them towards a life out of poverty. We also provide relational support so our families are no longer alone. Most importantly, we seek opportunities to share the gospel, as that is the truest hope for all of us.

We also recruit volunteers, whom we call Hope Family Allies, who we pair with one of our parents. The Allies are encouraged to help walk with our families and encourage them in their journey as they walk as a friend. Most importantly, we encourage our volunteers to share and show Christ to those they serve.

Would you partner with us and help us as we seek to Restore Hope and Keep Families Together?
