Micah Global is world-wide network of Christian organizations, active in relief, development, creation care and advocacy. Founded in 1999, the network has 330 member organizations across 93 countries representing many nations, tribes and tongues. Member organizations include international, country, and community-based relief and development organizations; local churches and denominational bodies; mission organizations; creation care and advocacy organizations; academic institutions.
Organizations join Micah Global because they seek solidarity, learning, action and reach beyond organizational, sectoral, cultural and geographic boundaries… all for greater Kingdom impact!
The vision of the network and its members is of an inspired and collaborative Christian faith and is about creating a just, compassionate and sustainable world where relationships between God, people and creation are being restored. In their individual and collaborative work, Micah members commit to following values, taken from the verse, Micah 6:8: to act justly, to love, give mercy and to walk humbly with God. Micah Global is coordinated by an international Secretariat (working together virtually) and governance is through a Board of Directors who are all members of the network.
Micah Global has the following three aims in its network activity:
to strengthen the individual and collaborative work of members;
to strengthen and partner with local churches in their missional outreach;
to bring about transformative change, at all levels of society.
Micah Global functions through a vibrant network ecosystem where members form, lead and are active in thematic projects and country groups. There are also regular online and onsite forums for Micah Chapel, Micah Learn and Micah Connect. Micah Hub is the online community platform for connecting, sharing and learning. Network principles include:
being member-led within a robust and expandable network structure;
being digitally enabled but also valuing in person meetings from time to time;
valuing our diverse and global membership;
extending and connecting beyond our network through strategic partnerships;
embracing a theological and biblical framework of God’s holistic mission including both the proclamation and the demonstration of the Good News of Jesus Christ and the salvation he brings.
Thematic projects in the following areas are specifically included within the Micah Global 2024 – 2026 Strategic plan:
disaster preparedness and risk reduction and disaster response;
advocacy and empowerment of Christians in creation care;
disability inclusion;
anti-human trafficking;
strengthening women in leadership in member organizations;
biblical and practical reflection, writing and leadership in holistic mission;
