"The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, plead with the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.” -Matthew 9: 37-38
Called by God, Valerian and Dorothea Bergen, along with their daughters Ivanna, Nyah, Kaitlyn and Jodi started working as Missionaries in Paraguay in May of 2024. They serve at ALMA Missions School, a Missionary Training Center in the heart of Paraguay that was started by Overcomers Missions Schools (US).
ALMA - America Latina Misiones Al-mundo (Latin American Missions to the world), located on a 35-acre campus in Paraguarí, is a Training Center that hosts students from all over the Latin speaking countries like Guatemala, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil and of course Paraguay. Young and older students alike, that have the godly calling to enter ministry come to ALMA to be entrained in a one-year program, preparing them for the Missions Field.
Valerian serves as the Financial Administrator of the School and participates and leads in many other school activities like organizing events, missions' trips and crusades, doing public outreaches, worship services, ministering and mentorship as well as social media.
Dorothea helps out in the kitchen, receiving guests on campus, and assisting with hospitality at the school. However, her main priorities are homeschooling their 4 daughters on a full-time basis.
Valerian and Dorothea (with family) live on Campus with the students and the rest of staff, walking alongside them and preparing the next generation of missionaries to go out into the world. By the grace of God, their work is completely supported and sustained by generous donors that have a heart in directly being involved in a project that builds and trains up missionaries. This is where our needs and our partners in this ministry come in. Currently, ALMA Graduates are serving in several different countries expanding the Kingdom of Christ by bringing the Good News to the people not reached, starting home-churches and discipling new believers.
By partnering and joining hands with Valerian and Dorothea Bergen, you are directly involved in fulfilling the Great Commission of Matthew 28:18-20. May the Lord bless you as we all together obediently do our part to build His Kingdom here on earth.
To reach the unreached with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
To train, equip and send workers into the harvest.
