About This Project

Thiessens2Africa continues to provide hope and surgery in Africa by providing compassionate, quality and affordable surgery to the poorest regions of the world. Over 5 billion people in the world do not have access to safe surgery. Surgically treatable diseases often go left untreated and can result in lifetime disability or death. In northern Madagascar, the Good News Hospital provides the only surgical care to the rural poor in the region. Dr. Jeshiah Thiessen is a Canadian-trained general surgeon working to support the people of Northern Madagascar through surgical care and the hope of the gospel. One surgery at a time he and his family are working to change that by volunteering and supporting surgical care at the Good New Hospital in Madagascar. In addition to providing surgery, they hope to invest in a future generation of surgeons through mentoring & training.
