About This Project
Beyond Ourselves is an education development ministry that is working to improve the quality of schooling in Zambia. Beyond Ourselves gives financial and professional support to Community Schools and is working with the Ministry for General Education to provide pre-service and in-service teacher training to government teachers nationwide.
The availability of quality education remains low despite the government's and other stakeholders' investment. Schools are often over-subscribed. Class sizes are high, and literacy levels remain low.
Beyond Ourselves is passionately working to see education improve in Zambia, specifically in literacy. The team has developed a contextualized literacy program which is being utilized to empower educators and improve their teaching of reading and writing. We believe literacy is a key component to releasing people’s God-given potential to achieve their dreams and fulfil God's plans.
