About This Project

United for Uganda (U4U) was created to support and work with Church of God missionaries and leadership in Uganda to grow, develop, and fund initiatives that help the Church of God, East Africa (Uganda) flourish.

U4U provides formal support for our missionaries, Tim and Colleen Stevenson. They have often spoken of the difficulties that exist in Uganda, but because they believe in Africa and the vision God has given them, they remain faithful to their calling to serve in Uganda and East Africa.  In the 38+ years that the Stevenson’s have served in East Africa, they have seen themselves as developmental missionaries. They view challenges as opportunities and have been finding creative ways to address them. In their time as missionaries, they have had a part in over 650 churches being planted, over 200 schools being established, and four medical clinics that they built to serve the needs of people across the country.

Another priority for U4U is to provide formal leadership education for Church of God leaders. It is not only costly, but also taking time away from family members and jobs to pursue such an education is a daunting pursuit. Core Discipleship is a program that was created to bring education to Church of God leaders in Uganda so that they could remain working and with their families while pursuing an education that will raise their leadership lid.

How You Can Help

There are several ways you can help U4U, and the Stevenson’s address the real challenges that the Church of God in Uganda face as they work to build the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven.

The first way you can help is in providing support for our missionaries, who minister to the people of Uganda. If you would like to help support the Stevenson’s, please select United for Uganda in the dropdown.

A second way to help is by joining us in supporting the next generation and cultivating leaders prepared for the tasks ahead.

U4U is providing this life-giving training to Ugandan men and women feeling God’s call to lead.  It costs $2000 over 18-24 months for each candidate to attend Core Discipleship.  Your generous contributions of any amount will be used to pay for:

·       Training materials

·       Travel expenses of the Core Discipleship team

·       Lodging and food for the team and candidates

·       Significant and useful resources for candidates who graduate

If you would like to sponsor a student(s) in their Core Discipleship endeavor, please use the United for Uganda drop down, but also type “Core Discipleship” in the comment box.

A third way to help is by giving toward building projects like putting a roof on an existing structure or drilling a well.

The specific costs for these initiatives are as follows:

·       Installing a roof on a church or school $10,000 depending on the size of the structure.

·       Drilling a well $10,000

If you would like to either completely fund one of these projects or simply contribute toward the completion of one, please use the projects drop down.

There is so much opportunity in Uganda, and other parts of East Africa and your contributions help supply the resources needed to serve the people of Uganda.  God is changing lives through a lifetime of ministry and missions work, and YOU can be a part of all God is doing there!
