About This Partner

The main focus of this ministry is to engage and help cultivate shalom (whole) relationships with God and God’s creation (human and non-human).

Caring for creation is not just an ecological issue; it is a spiritual one. What is happening with God’s creation today is both urgent and important. As such, it is critical that we integrate a spiritual lens as we face today’s societal and ecological challenges.

Key activities for this Creation Care ministry include:

  • Participating in and facilitating hands-on learning - especially related to food and marine issues

  • Developing educational resources (including children’s books and short films: www.creationcarestories.com) to help inspire thoughtful reflection & action in God’s creation

  • Writing / speaking on theological themes related to God and God’s creation

  • Collaborating with other individuals and groups involved in creation care as part of Christian discipleship / way of life

  • Cultivating spiritual rhythms of silence, contemplation and making (exercising creativity)

Creation care is not about a quick-fix but part of a lifelong journey of transformation in Christ. As this work impacts both our inner life and outer life, this means intentionally creating space for pause, experimentation and learning alongside of our thoughtful actions.
