Refugees have arrived (and continue to arrive) in Germany looking for support. The Mennonite church in the city of Ludwigshafen started an initiative called 'Friedenshaus' (Peace House) to support the newcomers as they integrate into German society.
This is done through German courses, homework to help their children, and social, cultural and musical activities.
Our job is to coordinate Friedenshaus activities, recruit volunteers, and foster new relationships, and a culture of peace through the programs.
Currently the people coming to the city are from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Iraq and other countries.
