About This Partner

Shishyashram is a handful of people trying to bring change to the hearts and minds of Christians in India. We want to empower Christians to know Jesus and share that truth with their communities.

Since 1998, we have had the privilege to release countless amounts of material to many people all across India and even the globe, stretching from Canada to Australia. We hope to give literary material to Christians to empower them to know Jesus more and share that hope and knowledge with those around them. ​Our focus is India. There are a lot of challenges currently facing North India, including continued opposition from radical Hindu radicals Islamic fundamentalist organizations. The churches at some locations are burned or broken down, but that is not the main issue because those are just buildings. The bigger challenges are the small house groups and small rented facilities where believers were gathering have now closed. There are hundreds of them that are not functioning now. This creates a big challenge and so prayer is the key element in supporting those who are suffering spiritually, physically, and financially.

How do we do it? We provide song books and meditational Christian material to the grassroot Churches of North India so that they can worship in homes and small room churches. We provide free Bibles for the new believers and seekers in remote towns and villages of North India, where families and individuals do not have the means to purchase, or the Bibles are not available to purchase. We organize a full day 'Anguish prayer' program for the Grassroot Pastors of North India where hundreds of them gather. We give them free Christian books donated by OM that were offered personally by George Verwer. We provide food material and other useful items in the Notorious GB Road Delhi red light area. This is where our volunteers of Shishyashram go on a regular basis. Here, they conduct prayer and Bible studies. We plan to start an unconventional school for the small children of brothels in the GB road Delhi.
