Tahanint N'Massinag e-Tinbuktu, abbreviated as TNT-Mali, whose name means in Tamashek ‘‘The merciful grace of God for Timbuktu'', is a humanitarian action and development NGO founded on June 28, 1999 in Timbuktu by Pastor Nouh Ag Infa YATTARA, with the following purposes:
To help Christians in northern Mali keep the torch of Christ burning despite intense pressure from increasingly violent Islam. Eight (8) out of ten (10) converts return to Islam as a result of persecution ranging from marginalization to banishment to all kinds of humiliation, social and even professional pressure;
Help them to survive and carry high the torch of Christ in the North of Mali in full window 10/40, (border with Mauritania, Algeria, Burkina Faso and with the South of Mali - Arabo-Tuareg, black African). Timbuktu is 5th in the rank of cities considered as the most Islamic in the world after Mecca, Medina, Jerusalem, and Kairouan;
Entering or leaving the cities of the North is a challenge. Thousands of children do not go to school, famine is rife everywhere and impoverishment is growing. This situation has a strong influence on Christians in the North and jeopardizes the ministry;
Filling our Jerusalem (Tinbuktu) and its region with the teachings of Jesus by proclaiming the Gospel through scriptures distribution, radio ministries, Christian films shows, Bible teachings to Muslims, leading Muslims to Christ;
Getting the new converts to be sustainable and rooted in Christ to pursue a good Christians witness to win other Muslims for Christ;
Empowering leaders by appropriate trainings in the Church and in TNT Committee to be good stewards before God and before men;
Empowering Christians, by seminars, in the community to be good transmitters of the Gospel (II Tim. 2:2);
Extending Christian ministry in other cities by using tools experienced in North Mali among the same unreached ethnic groups;
Empowering vulnerable women and children through trainings and microcredit for financial autonomy;
respond to the problems of public health, underdevelopment, poverty, protection and education of young people, children and women (street children, abandoned, AIDS orphans; single young mothers, neglected women, etc.) in difficult circumstances;
assistance to populations affected by droughts and conflicts; through actions including food security, education, governance, economic recovery, drinking water supply and sanitation, emergency assistance, peace building and strengthening social cohesion.
