The Pastorate exists to see future generations of vibrant & faithful churches promoting the renewal of Canada.
Currently, there is a pastoral crisis in the Canadian Church. It has been estimated that for every 1 pastor that becomes a Senior Pastor, there are 7 Senior Pastors retiring. A study done by Barna in 2017 revealed that over 50 years ago, “55 percent of all Protestant pastors were under the age of 45—that is, the majority of all church leaders were in their 20s, 30s and early 40’s. In 2017, just 22 percent are under 45.”
We exist to see the reversal of this trend, and we know it starts with the pastor. If we want to see vibrant and faithful churches in Canada, we need great pastors leading them; and that is why they are our primary focus. Our mission is to love, serve and equip Canadian pastors at every stage of their ministry journey to
increase the health, effectiveness & longevity of pastors in our nation. We see this as a 20+ year challenge, so we are committed to investing long-term in order to see the Canadian Church healthy, not hemorrhaging. We do this through the following three strategic activities for pastors:
1) We create and curate culture-shaping content
Podcasts, Social Channels, Newsletters, Reports - 2500-3000 pastors engage monthly with these.
2) We host relational & spiritually-formative gatherings
The Canadian Youth Pastor Summit, Digital Gatherings with sages & thought leaders, Annual Pastors Retreat, and more.
3) We facilitate tailored & collaborative learning communities
Emerging Leaders Lab - a 12 month cohort for young pastors on a trajectory for senior leadership
Lead Pastor Intensive - a 2 year program to deeply invest in the character and competencies of lead pastors.
