World Wide Life Humanitarian Partnership Society focuses on promoting the Christian Faith through teaching and combating the extreme poverty cycles that lead to the rampant human trafficking Thailand is all too well known for. Their primary focus is on working with the Northern Thai Mountain populations, particularly Hill Tribe Youth.
Thailand is a predominantly Buddhist country, with less than 1% Christian population. There is systemic racism in Thai society against the Hill Tribe people and a subtle class system that ranks them at the bottom. 85% of Hill Tribe people have completed less than seven grades of education and 35% can’t read or write. The pressures of this system often leave them in extreme poverty and this cycle leads to scores of young girls being enslaved in human trafficking. One in three prostitutes in Chiang Mai (Thailand’s largest city in the North) are from a rural Northern village.
Projects include- Life Line Family Care and Mentoring Centre a family home where full personal care and mentoring is provided for abandoned and orphaned Hill Tribe girls, who are considered the lowest in the class system, and at high risk for being exploited. This is a safe home environment, where teenage girls are parented with love, healthy Christian teaching, and life -skills training. They also attend an A.C.E. English language school, and have the potential to earn an American High school diploma.
-Working with Hill Tribe Schools, villages and Churches, meeting needs such as Christian education, other ESL programs, providing sustainable project education, and supplies to meet areas of immediate lack, such as food, clothing and repairs.
The future vision at World Wide Life Humanitarian Partnership, includes building up Hill Tribe Christian leaders in the local community and creating more safe spaces for Hill Tribe children to live and learn.
At World Wide Life we believe every child matters, education empowers, poverty sucks and as a global community working together we can inspire and nurture the human spirit, one child, one village, and one community at a time.
